SEPTEMBER'S MONTHLY MEETING
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9TH, @ 6:00 PM
CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, WATERTOWN
~ 3-D HISTORY OF 19TH CENTURY JEFFERSON COUNTY ~
If in the area, plan to attend the meeting and lecture. First up is a short business meeting that includes 2019 – 2020 elections. Members in good standings can run for office and vote. Currently we have Kevin Leeson running for President; we are actively seeking a Vice President nominee; Greg Plantz and Mary Blanchard have both agreed to remain in the treasurer position and recording secretary positions if approved by vote. If you wish to nominate a member, please receive their approval first, then notify a member of the current presidency and we will add their name to the ballot.
The lecture that follows will be presented by Tom French, a silver medal winner for 2012 best regional non-fiction book in the Northeast—Riverviews! Tom holds a personal collection of Jefferson County historic stereoviews taken during the Victorian era of the 1870s and 1880s. His slideshow of historic photos will entertain with people and places from our local bygone era; views as seen by many of our Jefferson County ancestors. Attend and see stereoviews of early Jefferson County life and leisure! You just may see a photo you want for your genealogical resources. After the lecture, Tom will have copies of his book available for purchase for those interested.
