News Release From FamilySearch-- new records available. Here is a sample of how FamilySearch is continuing to make available even more records each week. Although we're all disappointed that microfilm loans are going away before their entire collection is available in digital format, they are continually adding to what is availabe to us.

New Historic Records on FamilySearch: Week of July 10, 2017

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 14 July 2017--FamilySearch published new historic records this week from Brazil (about 4 million civil registration records), Chile, France, Netherlands, New Jersey, Nicaragua, Ohio, Peru, Russia, and BillionGraves. Searchable historic records are made available on FamilySearch.org through the help of thousands of volunteers from around the world. These volunteers transcribe (index) information from digital copies of handwritten records to make them easily searchable online. More volunteers are needed (particularly those who can read foreign languages) to keep pace with the large number of digital images being published online at FamilySearch.org.
